Poseidon Underwater Resort Fiji

No freakin way?! Is this for real?! The Poseidon Underwater resort will be open for business in 2009!
This resort will spectacularly feature six restaurants, seven bars, a dive shop, water sports centre, retail boutique, library/lounge, theatre, conference room, wedding chapel, nine-hole golf course, and tennis courts. An elevator will transport guests under the sea to the 24 suites and the luxury apartment that all include a special interior window film for privacy. Even in day light hours it's nearly impossible to look into the suites from underwater. You can also actually feed the fish from your room by pushing a button from a control console. Unbelievable!
Lets not forget the expected grand price tag that comes with such a place.
$30, 000 per couple includes Transportation from Nadi/Suva to the resort on their company planes.
4 nights in a luxury beach or over water villa.
2 nights in a luxury underwater suite.
Diving onboard a luxury expedition submarine outside the lagoon.
An initiation to piloting a 3 passenger mini sub inside the lagoon with the assistance of a trained pilot.
Scuba diving and snorkling with special programs from beginner to expert.
Walks on the lagoon floor with their sea-trek system.
Lectures and activities with a naturalist in-residence and guest marine scientists.
Wine tasting classes.
Your own personal professionally produced photo album of your experience at Poseidon Mystery Island.
Access to and supplies for all amenities: golf, tennis, watersports, etc.
Access to the resort spa.
Gormet meals and drinks.
*takes a deep breath*

I guess this type of place overwhelms me and I'm not entirely convinced of this concept however it sure is a wonderful fantasy :)

Look familiar?

After my post a few weeks back about Swan House in Atlanta, and the informative responses from Anne Harwell from the Annechovie blog, I had a sudden light bulb moment and decided Anne would be the perfect person to ask to paint this magnificent structure considering she'd visited and knew so much about it.
Ms Harwell's talents are well known within the blogging and etsy worlds as well as been featured in many design magazines.
Within 2 weeks my lovely original watercolour painting had arrived in the mail along with a sweet card featuring Anne's trademark louis chair print.
I LOVE IT! I'm currently having a custom frame made for it as it doesn't measure Australian standard sizes and I can't wait to see the final product hanging on my wall.
Thank you a billion times Anne for creating such a beautiful piece for me to marvel at everyday :)

Marc Folly

A while ago I bought this absolutely heavenly blank greeting card with the image originally painted by a French artist by the name of Marc Folly. I am so completely head over heels in love with it I'm going crazy trying to find a larger print version to frame. Does ANYBODY know where I could possibly obtain this exquisite piece of art?

Marc Folly has a charming website with a small sample of his fine fine work. He seems to have a fondness for boating themes.

It had to happen sooner or later. I couldn't go on without dedicating a post to some of my most favourite bathroom images. I would have included a picture of my own bathroom but I'm in the middle of making a few changes there so I'll post pics when it's finished.
One of my favourite luxurys in life is to sink into a deep hot soothing bath filled with rose or lavender oils and lots of bubbles.
This is definately a luxury most people can afford no matter how big or small their wet room is. You don't even need a large jacuzzi size tub. I've bathed in almost bucket size tubs with my legs dangling out the sides and had a ripe ole time lol.
With a few personal accents and some of your favourite fragrances you can create such an amazing haven from all the stresses of the world. One important thing is to make sure the kids are being looked after and you lock the door and even put a do not disturb sign on the handle lol.
Bathtime is ME time ;)

I think I've included images from most decor styles so you can find some kind of inspiration in creating your beautiful bathroom.

p.s The black bathroom was via house to home. HTML was playing funny buggers.

I'm having a retro moment with Jayne Mansfield...

How unbelieveably cool is Jayne Mansfield's home?! This is the pink palace in Bel-Air she shared with her husband Mickey Hargitay. I assume these pics have been around blogland forever so please excuse my first viewing and excitement.

Jayne Mansfield has never been one of my favourite golden oldies - that title is reserved for Grace Kelly but her home is just so quintessentially Hollywood! Floor to ceiling red leather - only in Hollywood :)

(please click the images for a larger view)

Omg so much pink shag pile I feel like I'm in a wonderful dream LOL.

Ahhhh the bathroom! Shag pile everywhere! And that gold heart bath with what looks like pink marble??!! I'm in love!!! hehe
seriously though, I do like the pink lighting.

Happy hunting...

I had a lovely day today treasure hunting at my local flea markets. You know how some days you can go and find absolutely nothing and other days fill your car? Well today was a good day. Not so much for furniture but there were plenty of trinkets.

Unfortunately I have a weakness for trinkets lol. Ever since I was a little girl I loved collecting tiny porcelain animals etc and displaying them in a glass cabinet. I now have three cabinets filled with all matter of things in my kitchen, livingroom and bathroom. I also have a little white table in my bathroom with a stunning antique'd tray filled with lovely things such as candles, roses, perfume, soaps and bath oils. I like to rotate my treasures every couple of weeks from cabinet to tray :)

Today I found some sweet new items to add to my almost out of control collection lol.

My purchases included a lovely perfume bottle without atomiser (I'll find one to fit another time), two stunning blue glass goblets, a sweet makeup compact, a colclough tea trio (I can never resist a tea set), an unused bottle of Estee Lauder bronzer cream (LOVE the colour of the bottle), a darling little mother of pearl trinket box, a vintage copy of Mary Poppins for my daughter, a vintage airforce tin for my son, a lovely blue and white ceramic ashtray (we're all non smokers here but I still couldn't resist it). I also bought a fabulous large old hat box complete with original travel stickers (excellent for storage) and my favourite purchase for the day was the most beautiful piece of vintage clothing - a satin pink pair of ladies bloomers with antique lace - GORGEOUS!
One last thing, I thought I'd take a pic of my recent Ebay find. A lovely tufted stool I plan to repaint the legs cream.
The best thing was all these items came under $100!
Anyone else spend their sunny sunday at the fleas? I'd love to sticky beek at your finds too!
